Sermon Notes
During the years in which I served as a pastor I delivered many sermons and sermon series, but had little time to turn more than a few into essays or books.
Now, as an aging writer with trickling energy and fading eyesight, I think the best way to preserve these labors of love is simply to post my sermon notes.
Since the sermons are fairly detailed, interested readers should be well able to follow the flow of the presentation, and in some cases hear the old preacher’s voice sounding forth.
These sermons may be especially helpful for pastors who would like to see how a fellow-pastor interpreted, illustrated, and applied the day’s text.
The sermons are in alphabetical, rather than chronological, order. In time, I hope to post a page presenting them by biblical text, in canonical order.
As you read them, you will frequently you run across the acronym HSL, which is code for Holy Spirit Leads. That’s when the preacher lets go of the outline and launches into a little free flight.
If you are a preacher, you may want to read this short essay, in which I share how the Lord worked in this particular preacher to prepare and deliver expository sermons (here).
I hope you will find each of these messages to be a true horn of plenty, containing wholesome and delicious fruit gleaned from many hours prayerful work in God’s great Garden of Truth, the Bible.
